Well, I guess I can start blogging again...

It's been a while, eh? Since the last time I blogged, oh, about a century ago it feels like, I've done a few things that may or may not be blog worthy. :) Here is a list..

1. I went to Disneyland for the first time EVER! :)

2. I got a JOB! At AFNI Call Center and I start next Tuesday. :)

3. I signed up for an Italian course with my best friend. :) I'll be speaking it in NO TIME! :))

I guess there actually wasnt much to blog about.. But those are the few great things that I can remember.. Hahah Next up on my goals list is buy a car and move out! Hopefully soon I'll be able to make some trips out to visit some of you lovely people!

Love you ALL!

Pearly :)

Blog, blog, blog.

I posted this on jeff's blog this morning, thought I'd share it here too. :))

First off: Jeff has been out for one year and two days!! WOOHOO!

Second: Last week, Jeff told me to write something from me and to share my testimony. I had no clue what to share. But last night as I was studying the scriptures it came to me. I was studying in the Book of Mormon, reading the book of Ether, in Chapter 2 when the Lord is talking to the Brother of Jared about how to light the Barges that his people built. In verse 25 it says:

And behold, I prepare ye against these things; for ye cannot cross the great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds that have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea?

This verse, for me, is saying that the Lord doesn't send us trials that we are not previously prepared for. We might not know that we are strong enough or smart enough or prepared enough for what He is aking, but the Lord knows we are. He will never give us a challenge we can't beat and He is always, always, ALWAYS there waiting for us to ask for help.. I know that with every fiber of my being. I know my Savior loves me. I know He wants to help me in all that I do. I know that when I exercise my agency and choose to ask Him for help He will do anything and everything to help. I know that if we don't ask, He can't help! He gave us agency as a part of this earthly test. We MUST choose Him. And as we do, we will be blessed. I know, like I KNOW that this is true. I know that this church is the one and only true church on the earth today. I love this gospel, I love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And I Say these things in the blessed name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Blarging is fun!

But when you don't really have an exciting life, it's hard. :)

On the 21st of May I moved in with Billiam and Cortney and sweet baby Bruiser (Bruin). :) So far, it's a good time! I love spending time with all three of them and taking good care of my sweet nephew nearly every day! Bill and Cort left Bruin and I at home yesterday to go on a little "Staycation" in Scottsdale. First time leaving the baby for so long and the farthest they've EVER been from him. Crazy! But he was a PERFECT angel. Seriously. Took two hour naps, went to bed at 8 and didn't wake up until 6:30 am. I'm pretty much exhausted though, seeing as I've been up since then as well.. ;) I'm very happy and so excited for the possibilities. I'm looking for a job and I'm open for childcare during the week. If you know anyone in the area that needs it! E-mail me: pearlynmarie@gmail.com or call me! 520.304.5973

that's all I have going on for now. Love you all! :)

It's kind of like a JACK in the BOX.

So, I'm taking this semester off from school. And to be honest with you, I'll probably take next semester off too. I start out the semester excited and energized. That fades and I end up not doing well in my classes at all. I don't like not doing well in my classes, I just get a little lazy and things start slipping.... I know, lame excuse. Anyways, to get to the point of my blog... ;) Massage Therapy has returned to the forefront of my mind as a profession. Like the title says, it's kinda like a Jack in the Box. It pops up in my mind at random times, surprising me, it sticks around for varying amounts of time and then returns to it's hiding place to jump back out at an undisclosed point in time. I don't know if I'll go through with it, but I'm going to tour the school I'm looking at at the end of the month. Cross your fingers and pray for me to know the right decision! I'm working on figuring things out. Hopefully it won't take too long to figure it out, this time. ♥ :]

Oh, how I love being busy!

Since I've come home, I've had tons of free time on my hands. I've kinda been getting a little stir crazy because I had NOTHING to do. Okay, I had stuff to do, it was just stuff I didn't WANT to do, so I didn't.. And last semester I took a couple classes, but nothing too extensive and they definitely didn't keep me very busy.. I also worked in my dad's Chiropractic office one morning a week. TOTALLY boring. Most definitely not what I wanted to continue doing for the rest of the school year.
So, I got a job working at a P.I. firm, doing admin work. It's completely different from Chiropractic admin work. Much more interesting, and I LOVE it. I ride the bus to and from work, which is a HUGE step for me. I was spoiled and positive I would NEVER ride the bus, EVER. And now I ride it three to four days a week. It's very liberating. I'm going to buy myself a laptop in the next couple of weeks (about 4-6), and I'm taking an online writing course this semester. After I buy my laptop, I'm going to start saving for a car. Very exciting.. It's a wonderful feeling, being busy & self reliant. I love it more than I care to admit. :)

He will be three months old on Saturday. He's a great addition to the Elrey family. Bill is an AWESOME dad and Cortney is a sweet, sweet momma. They make an adorable little family and I can't wait for their next baby. I will try to post some pictures of his blessing day soon.. But for now I just wanted to share him with you. :))

Vaccinations.

I have never had a shot in my entire 18 years of life. The only time I was ever poked by a needle was the one time I gave blood. That means I'm an un-immunized member of society. Usually, when I tell people that I wasn't vaccinated as a child they say "Oh! Stay away from me! I'm going to get a disease from you!" and that makes me laugh. Because, honestly, if the vaccines really work then I should pose no threat whatsoever to someone who was vaccinated as a child. I must say, that as an unvaccinated person, I haven't been sick much of my life. Yeah, sometimes I get the common cold or a flu virus, I've had the chicken pox and a small case of the shingles and once I got the Mumps... But I got over it and really, other than that, not a thing. No measles or polio, diphtheria or yellow fever. Really. I've been fine. And I'm most positively not dead.

I recently read an article on Immunizations in Motherhood magazine, they don't have it online so I can't post the link, but it was an excellent article that represented both sides of the debate fairly equally and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested (My mom got it at Sunflower Market). I don't understand why some people out there make such a big deal about the importance of pumping their hours old babies full of viruses and chemicals they probably do not need. One of the major things I don't get is why they give a baby a Hepatitis B shot. Why on earth would a baby have Hep B?! An STD! Really?! And another thing.. Most of the actual vaccines they give you, the disease they treat or prevent or whatever has died out in the U.S. If it has died out in the U.S. and you aren't going to a country that it hasn't died out in, why put the harmful virus/chemicals in you're/you're child's body? There's really no point.

The media has said that the link between vaccines and Autism has been disproved, but it hasn't. The number of children diagnosed with autism is about 1 in every 150. A new case is diagnosed every twenty (that's 20) minutes. 67 a day. That is a lot of kids. I'm not saying it's proven that there is a link between autism and vaccines.. I'm just saying its not disproven. There's still that risk of changing a child's life for the worse by vaccinating them. I don't think I want to take that risk.

Anyways.. This is the longest blog of my life. If you can't tell, I'm rather passionate about this. Hahaha Thanks for reading... It's probably really disjointed and kinda rambles on and on.. But whatever. :) <33

Cinco.....

I'll be HOME in FIVE DAYS! I mean, seriously, time has FLOWN by!! It still is flying. Today only flew by mostly because I accidentally woke up at one in the afternoon... But still. Five days and I'll be back in Tucson, where I belong for the next year or so. Wow. It's pretty ridiculous. I'm so excited. I'm quite sad though. I'm already missing some people. It is most definitely a bitter sweet occasion. On sunday, I may or may not cry a little bit.

Graduation is in a week..

But for now, High School is complete. I'm DONE. It's extremely exciting. I have so much time, I don't know what to do with myself!! I guess I should finish cleaning the kitchen and then clean the bathroom... and my bedroom... but its SO relaxing to sit here doing nothing.... :)

Welp,

Two days left of school, Two weeks 'til Graduation, and 3.5 weeks 'til I fly back to that glorious sweltering sauna that I love so dang much. These last 9 and a half months have been awesome. It's crazy how fast time flew by. it seems like yesterday Aaron was picking me up from the airport. I love it here, and I'll be back as soon as I can. I promise, Melissa. I am so excited to get back and reconnect with a lot of people. It's a sweet and sour thing. I get my old friends back, but I lose all the new ones... Not really lose, but you know what I mean. It'll be a little hard. Not as hard as leaving my whole life behind, but close.

Nephews are awesome...

My four year old nephew, Gabriel, was singing Down by the Bay and this is what he said:

Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow,
Back to my home I dare not go
For if I do my mother will say:
Have you ever seen a Llama Talking to Obama?!
Down by the bay.

He thought it was hilarious. It was. You would never expect a four year old to rhyme like that.

Just for fun.

Flight.

My parents bought my ticket for my return home. June 16th is the set date, and I'm really excited. I'll be sad to leave all of the wonderful people I have befriended here, but I promise to keep in touch and come visit sometime in the near-ish future. There are Seventy-Nine days to the 'Big Day.' I can't wait for the Hot, Hot, Heat of Arizona. And the Monsooonsss, Mmmm. I love it. :)

It's Business time.

I'll be going back to Tucson in June, after my graduation. I won't be going to school right away and I'm not even sure I'll be going to UVU. I would love to go to school up in Utah, but I don't know. I might just end up at UofA or something. I can't wait for June. It's not coming soon enough. My parents and my sister will be coming on June 2nd for my graduation, they will leave the 9th and I will probably leave the 16th. I'm thinking about taking a few courses at PCC just to get started with my schooling, I don't know. Life is getting more and more complicated by the day. I'm just getting stressed. Growing up is a pain.
